(Geomatrix). The DTSC Fresno RE sponsible Party Unit
(FRPU) requested that DTSC Human and Ecological Risk Divisi n (HERD) conduct a
detailed review of the August 2007 report. The HERD review m 3morandum, dated
November 27, 2007 is enclosed with this letter.
The Risk Assessment evaluated the potential for adverse huma i health and ecological
effects as a result of exposure to chemicals detected within the ormer American
Moulding and Millwork Site (Site), if no additional remedial actio i were to take place.
Exposure to chemicals was evaluated for residential receptors end
commercial/industrial workers both for current and potential future exposures. The Risk
Assessment Report concluded that the chemicals 2,3,7,8-TCDE 1 TEQ,
tetrachloroethelyne, 1,2-dichloroethane, 1,3-butadiene, carbon letrachloride,
benzo(a)pyrene, antimony and lead may present adverse human health and ecological
effects if not remediated.
The August 2007 report also presents proposed risk-based rem diation goals (RBRGs)
for the Site. However, risk management decisions are not under the purview of HERD
and the RBRGs are not approved as part of the August 2007 Ri k Assessment Report,
The RBRGs will be evaluated after remedial investigation of the site is completed and
the cleanup objectives are presented within the Draft Removal Action Workplan (RAW).
At this time the August 28, 2007 Risk Assessment Report can te considered approved
by DTSC. The final Risk Assessment Report should include the comments from HERD
and, along with this approval letter, can now be used as Appendix F of the Draft RAW.
Ta:=
Ta05.1Y7
