Patrick Hughes
American Moulding&Millwork Co.
2801 North West Lane
Stockton, CA 95215
REVIEW OF SITE ENVIRONMENTAL HISTORY,AMERICAN MOULDING AND
MILLWORK, STOCKTON, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
We have reviewed the 4 May 2001 Site Environmental History (Report) submitted by Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (GEI) on behalf of J. Patrick Hughes of American Moulding and Millwork
Company(AMM) at 2801 North West Lane in Stockton (site). The Report discusses the results of
previous investigations regarding 15 underground storage tanks, steam cleaning and western ditch areas,
septic tanks, wash-down areas, storm water retention ponds, electrical transformers, and bum pits and
summarizes analytical data from 1992, 1994, and 2000.
We have the following comments on the Report:
1. The Report does not include all of the laboratory analytical data and provides laboratory
analytical data for 1993 that is not summarized in the tables. AMM should provide the analytical
data or reference the reports that the analytical data is provided in.
2. Table 6 of the Report lists concentrations under the heading of"TTLC" (total threshold limit
concentration) and"STLC" (soluble threshold limit concentration). However, TTLC and STLC
are hazardous waste limits established in Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations. The
Report should explain if the concentrations presented in Table 6 are total and soluble
concentrations and the method by which these concentrations were obtained.
3. The "STLC"results for the lead presented in Table 6 appear inconsistent based on the reported
"TTLC" concentrations. The Report should discuss these results.
4. The Report analytical tables do not present data from the seven on-site monitoring wells.
5. The Report references seven monitoring wells on the property, but the figures do not illustrate the
locations of these wells. AMM should provide a figure that illustrates the location of the
referenced monitoring wells.
California Environmental Protection Agency
Co Recycled Paper
The energy challenge facing California is real.
