' Maintenance Shop Ditch. Three pits were excavated in the
t maintenance shop ditch. (P5, P6, P7) . Sample location P7 is situated
south of an underground diesel tank. Three discrete samples were
collected from each pit, at intervals of approximately 0 to 1, 1 to
YY1
2, and 2 to 3 feet below the ground surface. Sampling methodology
XVt was identical to those described for the truck parking area.
' In addition, a surface soil sample was collected where the
' maintenance shop ditch discharges into an employee parking lot
(P19) . The sample was collected from a depth of 0-6 inches using a
' clean trowel and then placed into a pre-cleaned glass jar.
Miscellaneous Sampling. Two background surface soil samples were
' collected, one on-site (BG-1) and one off-site (BG-2) . Both samples
locations were in areas assumed to be uncontaminated. Each sample
' was collected from a depth of 0-6 inches using a clean trowel and
then placed into a pre-cleaned glass jar.
CHEMICAL ANALYSIS PROGRAM
Chemical analyses were performed by California Analytical
' Laboratories, Inc. (CAL Lab) of West Sacramento, California. As
requested by DOHS, 10% of the samples served as quality assurance
' checks. These samples were sent to Radian Corporation of
Sacramento, California for analysis. Analysis of the samples were
' in accordance with EPA methods and quality control procedures.
Analytical test methods are shown in Table 3.
1
1
' - 3 -
2611F
