AOC Work Plans
reported by AGE to be within background levels. TPHg and SVOCs were not detected in any of
the soil samples analyzed and the pH was within normal ranges(7.95).
With the exception of dissolved chromium, detected below the PRG in bol h samples at a maximum
concentration of 0.073 mg1L, all requested compounds were below laboral ory reporting limits for
the groundwater samples.
Data Gaps
Additional sampling is necessary to confirm the horizontal extent of TPH d lead in excess of
cleanup levels in the upper five feet of soils in the Former Steam Cleaning and Western Ditch
Areas. Samples(shallow only)will also be analyzed to confirm that VOC , SVOCs, and phenols
are not present in shallow soil as these compounds were not analyzed in al samples during
previous sampling events.
Field Investigation Approach
Three test pits will be excavated within the SCAT area and three will bee cavated within the
SCA2 North and the Western Drainage Ditch as detailed on Plates 4.4a an I 4.4b. A total of 12 soil
samples(two samples in each of the six test pits)will be collected at depth 3 of 1.0 and 5.0 feet bgs.
Soil samples will be collected by either driving sample tubes directly into a soil in the test pit or
by driving the tube directly into the backhoe bucket. All samples will be a aalyzed for TPHd,
TPHmo,and lead. In addition samples at one foot bgs will also be analyzed for VOCs, SVOCs,
and phenols.
Draft
KB61125 workplan-ESC MACTEC Engineering and Consulting, Inc. 41
September 28,2005
