1 <br /> 29 January 2002 <br /> ' AGE-NC Project No. 98-0466 <br /> Page 13 of 25 <br /> ' • Soil boring P137 was advanced near the active septic leach field located just west of the <br /> Millwork Building to a depth of 60 feet bsg; <br /> ' • Soil boring PB8 was advanced near the former wash-down area located north of the <br /> Millwork Building to a depth of 60 feet bsg; <br /> • Soil boring PB9 was advanced between the former wash-down ax ea south ofthe Cover Plant <br /> and the former teepee structure to a depth of 60 feet bsg; <br /> • Soil boring PB 10 was advanced near the drain sump located no rth of the 44x120 Storage <br /> ' Building to a depth of 60 feet bsg; <br /> • Soil boring PB 11 was advanced north of the burn pits located at le northern portion of the <br /> property to a depth of 60 feet bsg; and <br /> • Soil boring PB 12 was advanced adjacent to the north storm water basin to a depth of 60 feet <br /> ' bsg. <br /> Soil boring locations are shown on Figures 3 and 4. <br /> The field work was conducted as outlined in the AGE-prepared, RWQCB-approved Site <br /> Contamination Work Plan and work plan addendum dated 11 September 001 and 23 October 2001, <br /> respectively. <br /> 1 <br /> 3.1. DRILLING <br /> ' Soil probe borings were advanced utilizing a truck-mounted CME 75 drill rig equipped with <br /> 8.25-inch diameter hollow stem augers. All soil borings were abandon under observation by a <br /> ' representative from the PHS-EHD, by backfilling to surface grade with I ortland type PH cement. <br /> 3.2. SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION <br /> ' Soil samples were collected ahead of the drill bit using a California mo ' ed split-spoon sampler <br /> loaded with three pre-cleaned 2-inch by 6-inch brass sleeves. The sampler was advanced using a <br /> 140-pound hammer. The number of blows required to advance the sampler over each 6-inch <br /> ' increment of the 18-inch sampling interval was recorded on the boring logs.
