IV. Conclusions
The following conclusions and observations are provided:
• Four groundwater monitoring wells were located, properly repaired, and
redeveloped at MSC site at the Port of Stockton.
• The wells were found to still be serviceable and were repaired to secure
the surface casing access and redeveloped in anticipation of future
sampling and analysis of representative ground water samples.
• Monitoring Well MW-3 was the only well that appeared to have a sand-
pumping problem. The cause of that problem is unclear, but it is
suspected to be related to possible flowing conditions upon well
installation that resulted in insufficient sand pack around the lowermost
portion of slotted interval. In our opinion, this is a minor problem and the
well should be adequate for sampling.
• . MSC would like to close these wells in place in the near future, by filing a
well destruction permit with the San Joaquin County EHD, upon
conducting a one time ground water sampling as a cooperating party as
was requested by the San Joaquin County EHD and the CVRWQCB.
•
10
