Duplicate samples were collected at 10.0 feet in MW-1 and 0.5 feet in MW-4. The soil samples were
analyzed for the same constituents listed above, and also included:
J
• Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) - EPA Method 8240; and
• Semi-volatile Organic Compounds (SVOCS) - EPA 8270.
The soil samples collected from MW-1 were also analyzed for:
• Elemental (Total) Sulphur - EPA Method 6010; and
• Sulfates - EPA Method 300.
1
4.1.1 CAM Metals
i
The CAM Metals are antimony, arsenic, barium, beryllium, cadmium, cobalt, chromium, copper,
mercury, molybdenum, nickel, lead, selenium, silver, thallium, vanadium, and zinc. The majority of
the CAM Metals were analyzed by EPA Method 6010 with arsenic, mercury, selenium, and thallium
analyzed by alternate EPA approved methods to assure acceptable detection limits. Samples which were
analyzed for CAM Metals were subjected to an extraction prior to analysis. This enables a comparison
of reported concentrations of metals to the state of California regulatory criteria known as the Soluble
Threshold Limit Concentration (STLC).
r
Copper and lead were both detected at levels that exceed their respective STLC in soil samples
collected from Parcel III. Copper was detected above the STLC in four of 14 samples analyzed, and lead
in one sample. No other metals were detected at levels exceeding STLCs in Parcel III soil samples.
i
Metals detected above STLCs in Parcel III soil samples are summarized in Table 1. Comprehensive
laboratory analytical data reports are included in Appendix B.
1.
-i SAC28.013
9 December 20, 1991
