4.3.6 Pureeable Aromatic Halocarbons
Purgeable Aromatic Halocarbons were not detected in groundwater samples collected from MW-1
and MW-4.
4.3.7 Elemental Sulphur
Elemental sulphur was detected in both MW-1 and MW-4 at concentrations of 146,000µg/L, and
153,000 ug/L respectively. Elemental Sulphur was detected at 152,000 Ag/L in the duplicate sample
from MW-4 (MW-00). There is presently no MCL for elemental sulphur in groundwater.
4.3.8 Sulfates
Sulfates were detected in both MW-1 and MW-4 at 410,000 and 440,000 µg/L respectively.
"R There is no MCL for sulfates in groundwater.
j 4.3.9 Sulfide
Sulfide was not detected in groundwater samples collected from MW-1 and MW-4.
Comprehensive laboratory analytical data reports are presented in Appendix B.
J
„k 4.4 SUMMARY
J
Copper and lead were both detected in Parcel III near surface soil at concentrations that exceed
their respective STT-Cs. The extent of elevated levels of copper appears limited to the near surface soils
along the conveyor system easement and in the area of the former copper concentrate stockpile. The
- extent of elevated levels of lead appears limited to the near surface soils in the area of the adjoining
conveyor near the dockside boom tower.
TRPH was detected in Parcel III from both near surface soils and the capillary fringe. The
concentrations of TRPH detected are generally low for the analytical method.
Acetone was the only VOC detected in Parcel III soil. The distribution of acetone is limited to
a single detection in the capillary fringe.
• SAC28.013 December 20, 1991
18
