MONITORING AND REPORTING PROGRAM -2- <br /> MARLEY COOLING TOWER COMPANY <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> EFFLUENT MONITORING <br /> Effluent samples of each treatment system shall be collected prior to their <br /> discharge into the North Yard pipeline that conveys effluent to the Stockton <br /> Diverting Canal . Effluent samples shall be representative of the volume and <br /> nature of the discharge from each treatment unit. Samples for the toxicity <br /> testing may be changed to grab samples if it is determined that the volume of <br /> water from the 24 hour composite sampler is inadequate. Time of collection of <br /> grab samples shall be recorded. The following shall constitute the effluent <br /> monitoring program: <br /> Constituents Units Type of Sample Frequency <br /> Flow mgd Continuous Daily <br /> Total Chromium ug/l 24-hr composite Daily <br /> Hexavalent Chromium ug/l 24-hr composite Daily <br /> Copper ug/l 24-hr composite Daily <br /> Arsenic ug/l 24-hr composite Daily <br /> TDS mg/l 24-hr composite Daily <br /> Ph Ph Units 24-hr composite Daily <br /> Toxicity (Ceriodaohnia dubia) # Survival 24-hr composite Monthly <br /> Toxicity (fathead minnows) # Survival 24-hr composite Quarterly <br /> STORM WATER MONITORING <br /> During the treatment of the first two storm events and the first day of the <br /> third storm event the influent and effluent sampling shall be identical to the <br /> Interim Plant Startup Monitoring described above. <br /> RECEIVING WATER MONITORING <br /> All receiving water samples shall be grab samples. Samples shall be collected <br /> from mid-stream in the Stockton Diverting Canal from the following locations <br /> from 1 October to 1 April : <br /> Station <br /> R-1 8000 feet upstream from the point of discharge <br /> R-2 1000 feet downstream from the point of discharge <br /> Constituents Units Station Frequency <br /> Total Chromium ug/l R-1 , R-2 Weekly <br /> Hexavalent Chromium ug/l R-I, R-2 Weekly <br /> Ph Ph Units R-I, R-2 Weekly <br />
