(AGE)has epared this closure summary report for-the <br /> former underground storage tank"(UST) No. 1` "facility at-2$0 1.-North" West .Lane, Stockton, <br /> California; 'site code. 18822. The. site has previously .been'assessed and remediated; recent <br /> confirmation,sampling.has been completed'as per the work plan approved by the County of-San <br /> r Joaquin•"Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD). ' <br /> 1.1. SITE LOCATION <br /> The site is located on a 64-acre property on the southwest corner of the.intersection'of North West <br /> Lane and East Alpine Avenue (Figure i): The former WST area is approximately 30 feet east of a <br /> Targe water:tower located on the southernmost portion:�fthe property (Figure 2). The site has low" - <br /> -topographic relief, sloping gently toward the west"to so�thwest,at an elevation between 15 and 20 ; <br /> feet above sea level. <br /> The property is situated-within the Great Valley Geomorphic Province of California, a large,elongate <br /> northwest tending, asymmetric structural trough. The" reat.Valley Province has been filled to its . <br /> present clevation'with"thick sequences of sediment ranging in age from Jurassic.to Recent, creating- <br /> a nearly flat lying alluvial plain extending from the Teha�hapi Mountains in the south to the Klamath <br /> ." Mountains in the north. The western and eastern boundaries of this province are comprised of the <br /> California 'Coast Range and the -Sierra Nevada, respectively. "Rocks -composing, the basement <br /> r complex of the province have not been completely defiled but are believed to be of metamorphic <br /> k and igneous-origin.,"The Great Valley Province is subdivided into two major divisions designated the <br /> Sacramento and San.Joaquin Valleys. <br /> The Modesto,-Riverbank and Turlock Lake Formatio s"and overlying Recent alluvium are the <br /> principal source of domestic ground water.in the-1 3,50 square-mile San Joaquin Valley Ground <br /> Water Basin (Basin 5-22). <br /> Ground water is being monitored by Dames&"Moore"at adjacent-UST site, with two-monitoring " <br /> wells-within 1,00 feet of the former UST No."l.�Ground water occurred at approximately 35"feet <br /> below surface grade in March 1999,.and was flowing to and the northeast (Dames & Moore, April <br /> 1999, Quarter"'ly"Groundwater.Monitoring Report-Marc,41999).
