1
FORMER AMERICAN FOREST PRODUCTS '
3.0 Groundwater
CIosare Summary Report July 2009
URS Project 17322736
F Page 3-3
decontaminated by steam cleaning, washing in an Alconox:solution, rinsing with fresh water, and a final'
L rinsing with distilled water.
Purge and rinsate water were placed into a Baker tank at the site. Wastewater was removed and disposed
of by Evergreen Environmental Services and manifested as non-hazardous waste based on site analytical
data.
Laboratory-supplied sample containers and trip blanks were obtained from Kiff Analytical,LLC, (Kiff)of
Davis, California, prior to the sampling events.Kiff is certified by the'California Department of Health
Services,Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program,(DHS-FLAP). Following purging, samples
were collected from each well using disposable bailers;and transferred to the appropriate laboratory-
supplied sample containers through an attachment that allows a controlled flow from the bailer. Sample
containers were then labeled and placed into an iced cooler for shipment to the analytical laboratory via
overnight carrier. A completed chain-of-custody(Appendix B)accompanied each sample shipment.
3.3.2 Laboratory Analysis and QA
FThe groundwater samples were submitted for analysis according to the following methods:
rWells Analysis Method
DMW-2,DMW-5,DMW-6, 7Tota1•Petroleum Hydrocarbons Method 8015M(Silica Gel)
DMW-9, and DMW-11 as Diesel TPHd
i
through DMW-14 Chlorinated volatile organic EPA Method 8260B j
compounds (VOCs)
a and oxygenates
A field duplicate was collected at DMW-9. Equipment
p ansate and tap blank samples were also submitted
for analysis.Kiff performed routine laboratory quality assurance/quality control(QA/QC)analyses,
including method blanks, and surrogate analyses. Laboratory analytical reports for the groundwater 4
_ samples and the associated QA/QC samples are included in Appendix C. r
Data validation was performed by URS and consisted of reviewing:
• Data Completeness
k ; • Holding Times and Preservation i
t
• Blanks'
i
•- LaboratoryControl Samples
• System Monitoring Compounds (Surrogates) '
• Field Duplicates
• Compound Identification dentrficatron and Quantification
FData validation results are included in the Data Validation Summary(Appendix C). The data validation
found allresults to be acceptable and useable for their intended purpose.
(l KMprocess12273Mmericm ForestlClosur S5 ary-Rcport-RCWI.doc
