DRAFT AMENDED CLOSURE REQUEST <br /> FORMER AMERICAN FOREST PRODUCTS FACILITY <br /> 2801 WEST LANE <br /> STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This Draft Amended Closure Request has been prepared for the former American Forest <br /> Products Company (AFPC) facility (Site) located at 2801 West Lane in Stockton, California, <br /> following the RWQCB's Tri-Regional staff Recommendations for Preliminary Investigation and <br /> Evaluation of Underground Tank Sites - Request for Closure (RWQCB, March 1994) This Draft <br /> Amended Closure Request also presents the results of the most recent groundwater monitoring round <br /> for the site The groundwater monitoring was conducted at the request of the California Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) (December 10, 1992), and San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) (January 10, 1994) <br /> 11 PURPOSE <br /> Theu ose of this report present p rp p rt s to p ese t information relevant to obtaining conditional closure <br /> for this site This information has been compiled from previous investigations conducted at the Site <br /> by Dames & Moore, J H Kleinfelder, and Bechtel National Inc This report also includes new <br /> information developed to obtain site closure as requested by the RWQCB and the PHS-EHD The <br /> new information presented in this report includes <br /> • Results of the May, 1994 groundwater monitoring round, <br /> • Mass balance calculation of the amount of hydrocarbon removed, <br /> • Modeling of modeling of hydrocarbon fate and transport, and <br /> • Risks associated with hydrocarbon mitigation <br /> 1 2 REPORT ORGANIZATION s <br /> The format of this report has been based on the RWQCB guidance document, Tri-Regional <br /> Staff Recommendations for Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation of Underground Tank Sites, <br /> Appendix B - Requests for Closure A copy of this document is attached in Appendix D The <br /> guidance lists ten items of information to be included in closure documentation These items are <br /> listed below, together with the report sections and figures which address them in parentheses <br /> 1 Distance to production wells for municipal, domestic, agriculture, industry and other <br /> uses within 2,000 feet of the site (Section 3 2, Figure 5, Table 1), <br /> SAC116 07 1 AUGUST 1994 <br /> DAMES & MOORE <br />
