9 Halting D&M site operations, if necessary, in the even of an emergency or <br /> to correct unsafe work practices <br />' 10 Seeing that utility clearances are obtained prior to the commencement of <br /> work (see Section 5 2 6) - <br /> 11 Reviewing and approving this project health and safety plan <br />' 4 2 SITE SAFETY OFFICER(DAMES & MOORE) <br /> The Site Safety Officer's (SSO) duties may be carred out by the PM or other qualified <br /> rDames &Moore site manager The SSO is responsible for <br /> 1 Implementing project Health and Safety Plans, and reporting any <br />' deviations from the anticipated conditions described in the plan to the PM, <br /> and, if necessary, the DSO <br />' 2 Determining that monitoring equipment is used properly by D&M <br /> personnel and is calibrated in accordance with manufacturer's instructions <br /> or other standards, and that results are properly recorded and filed (See <br /> Attachment D for Daily Calibration Check Sheet) <br /> 3 Checking with the OSC or DSO to see that assigned D&M personnel have <br /> current Fit-For-Duty medical and training authorizations <br /> ' 4 Assuming any other duties as directed by the PM or DSO <br /> 5 Coordinating with Dames & Moore's Medical Surveillance Program <br /> ' Manager to identify D&M personnel on site for whom special PPE, <br /> exposure monitoring, or work restrictions may be required <br /> ' 6 Conducting safety meetings for all site personnel in accordance with <br /> Section 13, and completing the Site Safety Briefing Form (see Attachment <br /> E) <br /> 7 Conducting daily site inspections prior to the start of each shift and <br /> documenting on the "Hazardous Waste Operations — Daily Safety <br /> ' Inspection Checklist" found in the Attachments <br /> 8 Providing ongoing review of the protection level needs as project work is <br /> ' performed, and informing the PM of the need to upgrade/downgrade <br /> protection levels as appropriate <br /> 9 Seeing that decontamination procedures described in Section 10 0 are <br /> followed by D&M personnel <br /> AMFQREST 21 7 9 <br />
