1 • <br /> • San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> May 2, 1995 <br /> Page 2 <br /> November 1, 1994 Work Plan Selected soil samples will be submitted for laboratory analysis, as <br /> described below <br /> Soil cuttings will be placed on top of plastic sheeting, covered with additional sheeting, and <br /> contained on site pending determination of the appropriate disposal method One composite soil <br /> sample will be collected from the cuttmgs and analyzed for TPH as diesel (TPH/D) for waste <br /> profiling purposes <br /> Analytical Methods <br /> Samples will be analyzed by a laboratory licensed and approved by the State of California <br /> Department of Health Services for the tests utilized A portion the groundwater sample from <br /> monitoring well DMW-5 and part of each soil sample from the soil boring used for monitoring well <br /> DMW-5 and from soil borings SB-1 and SB-2 will be analyzed for TPH/D using EPA Method 8015 <br /> modified for diesel (8015M-d) In response to your request, the groundwater sample from DMW-5 <br /> and a portion of each soil sample from the soil boring used for monitoring well DMW-5 and soil <br /> boring SB-2 will also be analyzed for TPH as gasoline (TPH/G) and for benzene, ethyl benzene, <br /> toluene, and xylene (BETX) using EPA Method 8015 modified for gasoline (8015M-g) and EPA <br /> Method 8020, respectively <br /> Based on the analytical results for the tests indicated above, four soil samples (two each from <br /> soil borings SB-1 and SB-2) with the highest TPH levels will be subjected to the Waste Extraction <br /> Test (WET) using deionized water Based upon reported results for the initial analysis of each <br /> selected sample, the liquid fractions from the WET will then be analyzed using Method 8015-d <br /> and/or Method 8015- <br /> 8 ?' f 6-72— <br /> toOther Item Discussed �-bin --�r�� ,rL�( �� )y WOw�;( <br /> (�n��W <br /> • A site specific Health and Safety Plan (HSP) for use by Dames & Moore personnel as <br /> described in the November 1994 Work Plan has been prepared by a Dames & Moore <br /> Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) At the request of Mitchell Drilling Environmental <br /> Corporation, a subcontractor for this project, the Dames & Moore CIH also prepared a HSP <br /> for that company Both HSPS will be utilized at the job site <br /> SAC149 05 <br />
