URS
Mr.Jeffrey Wong
` 3 San Joaquin Public Health Service
- Third Quarter 2003 Groundwater Monitoring Report
June 11,2004
Es Page 3 of 4
i'
• blanks;
+ system monitoring compounds (surrogates);
"`" • laboratory control samples;
;_a • matrix spike/matrix spike duplicates; and
• compound identification and quantification.
>= The results of the data validation are included in the Data Validation Summary (Appendix B). The data
validation found all results to be acceptable and useable for their intended purpose with the no
limitations.
='• GROUNDWATER ELEVATIONS AND GRADIENT
A contour map of groundwater elevations is shown in Figure 3. Current and historical water level
elevation data for all wells are included in Table 2. Water levels measured in the third Quarter of 2003
were 50 to 60 feet below ground surface, or approximately —36 feet with reference to mean sea level
datum (MSLD). Although historical data indicate a rise in water levels subsequent to 1990, data
collected since December 1999 suggest that this trend may have stabilized or reversed. The water level
elevations measured in the third quarter of 2003 were the lowest measured since September 1996.
= Third quarter 2003 water Ievel data indicate a groundwater gradient of 0.0073 to the north.
GROUNDWATER ANALYTICAL RESULTS
A historical summary of analytical results for groundwater samples collected through September 2003 is
included in Table 3. Results for tetrachloroethene (PCE) and 1,2-dichloroethatne (1,2-DCA) are also
presented on Figure 4.
TPH-diesel
Total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH reported as unknown hydrocarbon (LTH) due to lack of match with
the TPH-diesel standard were reported for DMW-4 (200 micrograms per liter (gg/L)) and DMW-5 (94
n/W.
Volatiles and Oxygenates by EPA Method 8260B
1,2-Dichloroethane was reported in samples collected from DMW-2 (5.9 µg/L, and DMW-5 (21 gg/L).
These results are equal to or lower than previously reported results. Chloroform was reported in samples
collected from DMW-1 (1.7 µg/L).No PCE or other volatile constituents were detected.
c T
KAWprocess12273613Q03AFP_rev03 doe
