The purpose of this
engagement is to request site closure with the SJCEHb and the Regional Water Quality
Control, Board (RWQCB), following the performance of Phase I Environmental Site
Assessments (ESA), Phase II Subsurface Investigations and Site Characterization for the
above-referenced property (Figure 1). These activities were prompted after the property
was identified to have contained a former service station in the 1950's.
The following is a chronological summary of environmental work performed to date:
y
October 1995, Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA)
Building Analytics conducted a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) of the
subject property in October, 1995. The following environmental issues were identified:
• According to historical Sanborn fire insurane maps, a gasoline service station
existed on the subject property during the 1950's.
• During the site reconnaissance, BuildingAnalytics observed an on-going
subsurface investigation at the former Roek Construction facility, adjacent, on
the southeast corner of the intersection of South Wilson Way and Market Street.
• The government records research indicated that a Texaco gasoline service
station currently located adjacent, on the southwest corner of the intersection, is
q identified as a leaking underground storage tank(LUST) site.
I
u i
1
