i <br /> PRIVILEGED &CONFIDENTIAL <br /> �.a <br /> 7.0 DECONTAMINATION <br /> The hollow-stem augers were steam-cleaned prior to/and between their use in the two <br /> monitoring wells that were over drilled. Any equipment that came into-contact with TPH <br /> or BTEX impacted well construction materials was decontaminated, using a bristle brush <br /> and a trisodium phosphate (TSP) solution, which was then followed by two tapwater <br /> rinses. <br /> 8.0 WASTE DISPOSAL <br /> The soil cuttings and wastewater produced during the well abandonment activities was <br /> placed in 55-gallon DOT-approved drums and stored on-site pending their disposal. The <br /> soil cuttings and wastewater were then transported off-site to a disposal/recycling facility <br /> by a licensed hauler in accordance with appropriate regulations. Well casing, well boxes <br /> C and concrete debris were transported off-site to a sanitary landfill. <br /> 9.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> On August 2 and 3, 1999, four on-site groundwater monitoring wells were destroyed. <br /> Monitoring Wells MW-2 and MW-4 were destroyed using the over drill method, while <br /> ( } Monitoring Wells MW-1 and MW-3 were destroyed using the pressure grout method. <br /> Based on the completion of the destruction of the four on-site groundwater monitoring <br /> wells as the final requirement for "Case Closure", Building Analytics requests that a final <br /> "No Further Action Letter" be issued for the subject site by the SJCEHD. <br /> 10.
