OBJECTIVE AND PROPOSED SCOPE OF SERVICE <br /> The primary objective is to perform an additional subsurface investigation, and then <br /> to obtain regulatory agency closure and receive a no further action order. <br /> For the purpose of establishing the scope, the assumed work is as follows: <br /> ii <br /> Task 1: Site History <br /> Consultant will review available historical data including the above-mentioned <br /> archival photo, to assess the possible former locations) of historical underground <br /> storage tank(s) (UST(s)) on the site. <br /> Task 2: Additional Soil Boring <br /> Consultant shall: <br /> a. Modify the site-specific health and safety plan prior to initiating the field work; <br /> b. Visit the subject property and mark the proposed boring location. Subsequently, <br /> d a private underground utility locating servicer and Underground Services Alert <br /> (USA)will be contacted to clear the proposed boring location for utilities; <br /> c. Cause one (1) 80-foot boring to be made,using a drill-rig equipped with hollow <br /> stem augers, at the location indicated on Figure 2. Soil samples will be collected <br /> continuously; <br /> d. Submit soil samples at the historical high an l low groundwater elevations and <br /> the capillary fringe or every five feet, to be analyzed by a State of California- <br /> approved laboratory for analyses of TPHg/BEX and oxygenates, using EPA <br /> Methods 8015M/8020 and 8260,respectively; <br /> e. One sample of each different lithology will be submitted for analysis of <br /> permeability, porosity, bulk density, moisture content, organic carbon content <br /> and grain size distribution, according to the appropriate American Society for <br /> i Testing and Materials (ASTM) standard; and <br /> I <br /> f: Collect one (1) groundwater sample from thils boring and submit the sample to <br /> be analyzed by a State of California approved laboratory for analyses of <br /> TPHg/BTEX and oxygenates, using EPA Methods 8015NU8020 and 8260. <br /> Task 3: Groundwater Testing of Existing Monitoring Wells <br /> Consultant shall: <br /> u <br /> a. Measure the groundwater elevations in the existing wells; <br /> r <br /> b.
