30 March 2019 AdvancedGeo
AGE Project No. 10-1787 Environmental
shutoff solenoid is directly connected to the overflow protection visual/audible alarm
housing. During an alarm condition, the solenoid will immediately shut off all power to the
inline pump and compressor until the AST alarm condition is verified by Facility personnel.
2.2.1. Piping — 22 CCR § 66265.192 (k)(2)(C)
A 2" steel waste oil conduit pipe is connected to catch tray pans in the Facility work bays.
The conduit piping connects to an enclosed inline pump which pulls liquid from the pans
to the top of the AST/pipe connection.
2.2.2. Pump — 22 CCR § 66265.192 (k)(2)(D)
The pump is connected to the pans is low flow and runs when liquid reaches 75% of
capacity in the pans.
2.3. STORAGE — 22 CCR § 66265.192 (k)(8)
Vehicle waste oil is stored within the double walled AST with a capacity of 1,000-gallons.
Waste oil is a flammable liquid with a specific gravity is approximated at 0.82 kilogram
per cubic meter (kg/m3).
3.0. SECONDARY CONTAINMENT
The AST is double walled and has a 110% secondary shell for containment of a spill from
the primary. The top and side view of the AST are depicted in Figure 3. The manufacturer
tank specifications are included in Appendix A.
3.1. TANK DESIGN — 22 CCR § 66264.193(e)(3)
The AST is manufactured by Containment Solutions under the Waste Evac tank style.
The primary and secondary compartments are manufactured from 10-gauge steel with a
standard 1/8-inches thickness, 55-inches width, 113-inches length, 48-inches height and
cuboid in shape. The AST ancillary equipment is discussed in Section 2.0 of this report
and includes:
• Visual overflow gauge.
• Audible overflow sensor alarm.
• Emergency overflow pneumatic shutoff solenoid system.
• Primary and secondary emergency vent fittings
