3 <br /> GROUND ZERO ANALYSIS, INC. <br /> 1714 Main Street <br /> Escalon, California 95320-1927 <br /> Telephone (209) 838-9888 <br /> Facsimile (209) 838-9883 <br /> April 29, 2003 <br /> Mr Harlin Knoll <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> Subject First Quarter 2003 Groundwater Monitoring and Sampling Report <br /> Former M&K Market, 8960 West Walnut Grove Rd, Thornton, California <br /> Dear Mr Knoll <br /> This letter report presents the results of the first quarter 2003 groundwater monitoring and sampling <br /> activities at the subject site (Figure 1) The report was prepared by Ground Zero Analysis, Inc <br /> (Ground Zero) on behalf of the Barnyard Corporation <br /> 1.0 SM E ACTIVITIES <br /> Groundwater was monitored, purged and sampled in all site wells Samples collected from wells MW I <br /> through MW7 were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), benzene, toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene, total xylenes (BTEX), 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), ethylene dibrornide (EDB), and <br /> oxygenated gasoline additives Purgewater generated from groundwater monitoring activities was <br /> removed and transported to a permitted treatment storage disposal facility(TSDF) for proper disposal <br /> 2.0 FIELDWORK <br /> 2.1 Groundwater Monitoring and Sampling <br /> An experienced Ground Zero field technician monitored and sampled wells MW 1 through MW7 on <br /> March 4, 2003 Groundwater elevations were calculated by measuring the depth to groundwater in <br /> each well, and subtracting the measured value from the respective wellhead elevation The depth to <br /> groundwater in the wells ranged from 6 11 feet below the top of the well casing (btoc) in well MW6 to <br /> 8 74 feet btoc in well MWI Groundwater elevations rose an average of 1 0 foot between December <br /> 0 IGROUNDZEIBarnyard-ManseraeportslQMR1200311QM2003 doc <br />
