This letter report presents the results of the third quarter 2001 groundwater monitoring and sampling activities at the subject site (Figure 1) SITE ACTIVITIES Activities at the site included monitoring water level elevations and purging and sampling groundwater from site wells Groundwater samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHd), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes (BTEX), oxygenated gasoline additives, 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), and ethylene dibromide (EDB) FIELDWORK Groundwater Monitoring and Sampling On September 7, 2001, monitoring wells MW1 through MW4 were monitored and sampled Groundwater elevations were calculated by measuring the depth to groundwater in each well and subtracting from the respective wellhead elevation Groundwater at the site rose an average of 0 41 feet since last monitored in May 2001 Groundwater flowed to the southwest at a hydraulic gradient of approximately 0 0035 ft/ft, although the gradient appeared to flatten somewhat in the southern half of the site A potentiometric surface map generated using the September 7, 2001 monitoring data is depicted on Figure 2 Groundwater monitoring data are summarized in Table 1 Monitoring data sheets are included in Attachment A Uamyard/reports/gmr/3 QM2001
