INTERIM SOIL AND GROUNDWATER <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION SUMMARY REPORT <br /> 8940 W Walnut Grove Road, Thornton, CA <br /> segregated and stockpiled into the appropriate spoil piles <br /> A total of 13 confirmation soil samples were collected from the excavation Samples were submitted <br /> under chain of custody to Argon Laboratories (FLAP No 2359) for analysis of BTEX and MTBE <br /> Iutilizing EPA method 8020, and TPHg and TPHd by EPA method 8015m Analysis of MTBE by <br /> EPA method 8020 was authorized by Mr Harlan Knoll of San Joaquin County PHS/EHD Sample <br /> locations are shown on Figure 5 <br /> 4.2.1 Analytical Results of Soil Confirmation Samples <br /> Confirmation soil samples collected from the excavation contained no detectable concentrations <br /> of TPHg, TPHd, BTEX and MTBE, except for 11 ppm TPHd detected in sample MAN2-Q5-WC- <br /> 10, which was collected in the southwestern portion of the excavation Analytical results for soil and <br /> groundwater samples are summarized in Table 4 Laboratory data sheets and chain of custody <br /> documentation are included in Appendix A <br /> 4.3 Soil Stockpile Composite Sampling <br /> A total of 37 2 1 composite soil samples were collected from soil stockpiled on site 6 samples <br /> were collected from the "clean" soil pile, 5 samples were collected from the "potentially <br /> contaminated" pile, 24 samples were collected from the "contanunated" pile, and 2 samples were <br /> collected from an "old" soil pile The soil in the "old" soil pile was generated during removal of <br /> the USTs in January 1999 <br /> 4.3 I Analytical Results of Soil Stockpile Samples <br /> Analytical results indicated that the samples from the "old" soil pile and the "clean" soil pile <br /> contained no detectable levels of gasoline hydrocarbons although TPHd was detected at 30 ppm <br /> Iin one soil sample from the "clean" soil pile Composite samples collected from the "potentially <br /> contanunated" soil stockpile contained non-detect to relatively low concentrations of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons, and composite samples collected from the "contarmnated" soil stockpile contained <br /> low to moderate levels of petroleum hydrocarbon constituents <br /> G�DaW(iRO"DZEIMANSERIReports\soilexsum doc 5 <br /> I <br />
