WASHINGT011 E *` .>l \
STO CKTON, SAN JOA Q UIN CO UNTY 0'L° j,
When we met on 23 October 2001, you agreed to do the following:
• Install a replacement monitoring well along the southern boundary of your property,
• Sample all of the monitoring wells in the fall of 2001,
• Sign and return the cost acknowledgement form, and
• Plant trees along the eastern and western property boundaries.
In our 12 December 2001 telephone conversation, you stated that you received the cost
acknowledgement form we sent and that you would be selecting a consultant shortly. More than three
months have passed since we met and you agreed to work with us to clean up up your property. We
wish to continue to work with you to document the success of your safflower remediation and to bring
the site to closure. However, you must follow through with the actions you agreed to.
The most cost effective way for you to clean the property is for you to make it a high priority to work
with us. The 1972 Porter-Cologne Water Quality Act authorizes the Regional Board to assess penalties
for noncompliance. If you have trouble meeting a due date, let us know in advance and we can work out
something to our mutual benefit.
The new schedule of tasks for you and/or your consultant to complete is as follows:
By 15 February 2002: sign and return the cost recovery acknowledgement form and notify me who
your consultant is.
By 15 March 2002: provide a work plan and a time schedule to install a replacement well for MW-6,
and sample the monitoring wells purusant to Monitoring &Reporting Program 97-812.
By 15 May 2002: provide a monitoring report describing the results of the monitoring well sampling.
We look forward to working with you again.
