A total of 15 soil samples from the geoprobe survey (including one shallow and one deep sample
from SB-5) will be submitted to the laboratory for analysis. The soil sample analytical program
' for each sample location is summarized in Table 5. To investigate potential sources of nitrate, all
geoprobe soil samples will be analyzed for nitrate by EPA Method 300.0. To investigate
' potential sources of ammonia known to exist in the three northernmost wells at the site, soil
samples from the geoprobe locations in the central and northern portion of the site will be
' analyzed for ammonia by EPA Method 350.2. To evaluate a possible source of triazine
pesticides from the former storage trailers southwest of MW-2, one geoprobe soil sample from
' SB-7 will be analyzed by EPA 619. To better define the downgradient and vertical extent of
petroleum hydrocarbons, one deep and one shallow soil sample from the deeper geoprobe boring
' (SB-5) will be analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbons.
' Fifteen groundwater grab samples (including one shallow and one deep sample from SB-5) will
be collected and analyzed for pesticides and nitrate. The analytical program for each boring is
summarized in Table 5. Eleven of the groundwater grab samples from locations in the vicinity of
' known herbicide concentrations in groundwater will be analyzed for herbicides. Six groundwater
grab samples collected in the vicinity of known petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations in MW-1
' will be analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbons.
The analytical program will include the following methods and quantities:
Methods Number of soil Number of water
• EPA 602 M - expanded BTEX 6 6
' EPA 8015 M - TPH-Gas 6 6
• EPA 8015 M - TPH-Diesel 6 6
i EPA 608 - organochlorine pesticides 0 15
• EPA 619 -triazine pesticides 1 15
• EPA 615 -herbicides 0 7
' EPA 300.0 -nitrate as Nitrogen 15 15
• EPA 350.2 - ammonia as Nitrogen 11 1 I
' 6
