i r
INTERNATIONAL TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION
Ms. Wendy Wyels
Page 3
4. IT will survey all wells relative to the established benchmark located on West
Washington Street near the Port of Stockton offices.
5. Soil samples collected from drilling the new wells will only be analyzed if necessary to
help define the extent of impacted soil or to identify possible sources of chemicals known
to exist in the groundwater. The proposed soil sampling plan is summarized in Table 5.
Specifically, the soil sample from MW-6 and MW-7 will be analyzed for nitrate and the
soil sample from MW-7 will also be analyzed for ammonia.
Remedial Options Feasibility Study (Section 2.2)
The feasibility study (FS) will follow the general guidelines required for CERCLA. The FS will
occur in three phases: the development of alternatives, the screening of alternatives and the
detailed analysis of alternatives. Section 2.2 has been expanded to provide further detail of the
FS process.
RRg orts (Section 2.3)
As requested, quarterly monitoring reports will be submitted within eight weeks of sample
collection.
Ouarterly Monitoring (Section 2.3.2)
The quarterly groundwater sampling analytical program will follow the same program as outlined
in Table 5. Specifically, all wells will be sampled for pesticides, nitrate and ammonia. Four
wells (MW-1,2,3 and 6) will be sampled for herbicides to monitor plume dimensions and
concentrations known to exist only in MW-3. Six wells (MW-1,2,4,5,7 and 8) will be sampled
for petroleum hydrocarbons to monitor plume dimensions and concentrations known to exist only
in MW-1.
Thank you for your assistance on this project.
