I <br /> monitoring program by one sampling event was included in the letter report <br /> 8 March 1994 Sampling Event The third and final quarterly groundwater sampling event <br /> occurred on 8 March 1994 Again, well MW-5 was determined to be the downgradient well <br /> ' from well MW-1 , therefore, only well MW-1 was sampled Low concentrations of TPH-G and <br /> TPH-D (1 6 mg/L and 5 1 mg/L, respectively) were detected in well MW-1 during this <br /> sampling event Results of this sampling event were submitted to the PHS/=HD in a letter <br /> dated 4 April 1994, a copy of which is provided in Appendix A <br /> Tables 1 and 2 summarize groundwater elevations and groundwater analyses results <br /> ' collected between the years of 1989 and 1994 Figures 5 through 10 are "rough" <br /> groundwater gradient maps for each event where groundwater elevations were recorded <br /> ' EXISTING SITE CONDITIONS <br /> Five groundwater monitoring wells have been installed at the Site and the UST removed <br /> ' Currently the warehouse and salesyard of the Site have been leased for materials storage <br /> Based on the last sampling event, low concentrations of TPH-G and TPH-D (3 2 mg/L and 5 1 <br /> mg/L, respectively) exist only at monitoring well MW-1 <br /> ' RATIONAL FOR SITE CLOSURE <br /> Groundwater samples collected from monitoring well MW-1 for four consecutive quarters <br /> (second, third, and fourth quarters of 1993 and first quarter 1994) have shown consistently <br /> low concentrations of TPH-G and TPH-D Additionally, no chemicals of concern have been <br /> detected in the other wells at the Site <br /> On the bass that low concentrations of TPH have been detected only in well MW-1, and <br /> BTEX was not detected in well MW-1 when analyzed for during the monitoring program we <br /> recommend no further groundwater monitoring be conducted at the Site and the five onsite <br /> monitoring wells be closed The wells will be closed in accordance with State and County <br /> guidelines We are also requesting the Site be granted closure so that the Bankruptcy <br /> ' Trustee may proceed with the transfer of this property <br /> 1 <br /> 1 <br /> 92264000 5 922540 00 <br /> 04/26194 2 28pm <br /> III <br />
