i <br /> I INTRODUCTION , <br /> In response to the requests of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental <br /> .r <br /> Health Division (PHS/EHD), Thrifty Oil Company performed'a site assessment investigation at <br /> Thrifty Service Station 171 1n November 1992 The site is located at 1250 N Wilson Way in <br /> Stockton, California (Figure 1) The purpose of this investigation 1s to obtain further <br /> { information on the extent of hydrocarbon contamination found previously in the subsurface <br /> I ' <br /> This scope of work was presented in Thrifty's workplan for additional site assessment dated July <br /> 15, 1992 The original plan called for installation of four groundwater monitoring wells, two <br /> vadose wells and a soil boring Because of conditions encountered in the field, this scope of <br /> ,.,work was altered slightly, under.the auspices of PHS/EHD <br /> The site is operated as a self-service gasoline sales facility by Thrifty and features a cashier's <br /> booth, three pump dispenser islands, and five steel underground tanks (Figure 2) The tanks are <br /> i <br /> clustered in the southwestern portion of the site, range in capacity from 5,000 to 12,000 gallons, <br /> and are used to store various unleaded gasoline blends The site has been operated as a service r <br /> station for at least 25 years <br /> Previous Investigations <br /> Hydrotech Consultants, Inc performed.the initial investigation at the site in December <br /> �k <br /> j of 1987 The details of this investigation are presented in -the Hydrotech report titled <br /> it I <br /> "Limited Subsurface Investigation, Thrifty Oil Company Station No 171, 1250 N <br /> Wilson Way, Stockton, California", dated January 7, 1988 .The investigation consisted <br /> of advancing four (4) exploratory borings (131, B2, B3, and B4) to depths of 20 feet <br /> ! below grade surface (bgs) near the underground storage tanks as shown on Figure 2 <br /> Laboratory results of selected samples indicated the presence of 1,983 mg/kg total <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) in sample B4 at 10 feet bgs. <br /> t Page 1 <br /> 7tc ::4- 41044 <br />
