Starting in the third quarter of 1997, as required by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality =i Control Board(CVRWQCB), samples were analyzed for Oxygenates by EPA Method 8260 The - seven oxygenates which were sampled for are Di-isopropyl ether, Ethanol, Ethyl tert-Butyl Ether, Methanol, Methyl tert-Butyl Ether, Tert-Amyl Methyl Ether, Tert-Butanol All results for the Oxygenates are located in Appendix A A summary of analytical sampling results, except Oxygenates, are provided in Table 1, and copies of the analytical laboratory reports are contained in Appendix A Schedule As per your request, following is a schedule to implement the approved corrective action plan at this site Thrifty is in the process of preparing a permit application for submittal to the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (APCD) to operate a remediation system at this site This permit application will be submitted to the APCD by August 14, 1998 Thrifty anticipates APCD approval of the permit application within four to six months of submittal Delays are expected since the site is within 1000 feet of a school and a public notification process will be required Remediation system piping,system compound pad, and fence have been installed However, • the APCD has informed Thrifty that remedial equipment cannot be placed on-site prior to receiving the APCD Authonty to Construct (ATC)/Pe=t to Operate (PTO) Permit Once on APCD permit has been approved, Thrifty anticipates equipment procurement and system installation will be completed within three weeks System start-up should commence within one week following system installation All interpretations expressed in this report are based upon review of data collected by EMC Should you have any question or require additional information, please contact the undersigned at (562) 921-3581 Respectfully, L' Q"o Fn 4cs en Bryan Van Wagner, RG, CH Project Manager Hydrogeoiogist cc ARCO Products Company File
