t5 <br /> t5 � <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> This Correction Action Plan (CAP) briefly summarizes the results of subsurface environmental work, <br /> and presents a proposed plan for treatment of the hydrocarbon contamination at Thnfty Service Station <br /> 171 The site is located at 1250 North Wilson Way in Stockton, California (Figure 1) This CAP is <br /> subnutted in response to the requests of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental <br /> Health Division (PHS/EHD) to mitigate the hydrocarbon contamination in soils and groundwater <br /> beneath the site Thrifty proposes to treat the site via vapor extraction and simultaneous groundwater <br /> extraction Details of the remediation strategy, required equipment, permitting, and estimated duration <br /> of system operation are presented <br /> Thrifty Oil Company Station 171 is located on the southeast comer of Wilson Way and Harding Way <br /> in Stockton, California (Figure 1) The site is generally square and about 12,300 square feet in size <br /> The site is operated as a self-service gasoline sales facility by Thrifty Oil Company and features a <br /> • cashier's booth, three product dispenser islands, and three new double-walled fiberglass <br /> underground tanks (Figure 2) The new tanks were installed in November 1994 and are located <br /> near the northeastern corner of the site These tanks replaced five steel underground tanks that <br /> were located in the southwestern portion of the site The site has been operated as a service <br /> station for at least 25 years and there are no plans for alternate site uses <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> Between 1987 and 1994, several site assessment investigations were performed at the property <br /> During the course of these investigations five soil borings(B1-B5), five vapor monitoring wells (MW 1- <br /> MW3 and VW1-VW2), and four groundwater monitoring wells (MW3R-MW6) were installed at the <br /> site In November 1994, a reconstruction effort was initiated at the site This included removal of the <br /> five original underground storage tanks and replacement with the new tanks These construction <br /> i <br /> Page 1 <br />
