Site <br /> monitoring activities have been suspended during site reconstruction The remodeling effort also <br /> involved installation of several underground vaults that will be used to access the subsurface for <br /> further investigation Underground piping has been run to the vaults so that future wells can be <br /> connected to a remediation system, should this become necessary Figure 1 shows the layout <br /> of the vaults and piping <br /> SITE REMEDIATION <br /> To date, no remediation of soil or groundwater has been conducted at the site Currently, <br /> Thrifty is conducting an additional investigation which consists of the installation of twelve <br /> vadose or groundwater monitoring wells at the site On December 20, 1994, Thrifty installed <br /> two vadose wells (T134 and T136) and three soil borings (TB3 TB 13 and TB 14) at the site in <br /> conjunction with the scope of work in the current Workplan (dated December 5, 1994). The <br /> remainder of the wells/borings will be installed in the new vaults <br /> The data from the investigation conducted in December 1994 is included in this report for your <br /> review These data will also be included in a report of findings for the entire investigation Our <br /> current scheduled date for initiation of the remaining field work is May 16, 1995 The <br /> Subsurface Investigation Report should be complete and submitted by June 15, 1995 <br /> On December 20, 1994, Thrifty conducted the first phase of the subject investigation The two <br /> monitoring wells were installed along the west margin of the site adjacent to the western pump <br /> island Well TB4 is located near the northern end of the dispenser island and extends to a depth <br /> of 50 feet below grade The well is intended as a potential vapor extraction point to access the <br /> contaminated soils noted in this area Accordingly, the well is screened from total depth to 5 <br /> Qo <br /> 10000 Lakewood Boulevard, Downey, CA 90240-4082 9 (310) 923-9876 <br />
