On 11 August 2003 the Central Valley Region of the California <br /> f Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) sent aI letterk to the San <br /> Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD;) in which the <br /> RW CB concurred that n '' <br /> Q o further action is required q red at the former UPRR <br /> property at 936 East Weber Avenue, Stockton, California (Figure 1). In <br /> accordance with this letter, the final action to be completed a�)the site was <br /> abandonment of the three monitoring wells. <br /> A Well Abandonment Workplan, dated 19 April 2004, and well permit ` <br /> application were prepared and submitted to your officeThe permit was <br /> approved on 22 April 2004 and issued the service request number <br /> SR# 0037729. <br /> On 27 April 2004 the three monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-3) shown <br /> on Figure 2 were abandoned via pressure grouting, according to the <br /> following procedures: f <br /> • Wells were tagged for depth to ground water and total depth. All <br /> three wells had ground water at approximately 39 feet below ground <br /> surface and were free of obstruction to within 1.5 feet of actual <br /> construction depth. ; E <br /> • Grout consisting of neat cement (no bentonite added} was pumped <br /> into the casing through a tremie pipe extending to within 2 feet of the r <br /> bottom of the casing.
