Coca-Cola Enterprises - West
Job No. 90054
o A tap water rinse.
o A final rinse of distilled water.
All effluent generated during the decontamination process was contained in DOT approved 55-
gallon steel drums. The drums are temporarily stored on-site pending chemical analytical
results.
3.11 13ORING A13ANDONMENT
Following the completion of the drilling and sampling operations, each boring was backfilled
to the existing surface (Photograph No. b) with a concrete grout (nine sack mix). Borings B2,
B3, Btu, 611, and B12 were converted into groundwater monitoring wells, MW-1 through MW-
5, respectively. All backfill procedures were observed by Mr. Steven Schneider, San Joaquin
County, Department of Health. The groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-5) will }
i be properly abandoned after closure of the site.
r i
4.0 ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY PROCEDURES
Soil samples were collected at varied depths between 5 and 75 feet. The samples were selected
for analysis on the basis of organic vapor readings (Section 3.8), visual observations, and overall
,., vertical and lateral coverage. The field screen indicated that the contaminated soils were
predominantly confined to a 30 foot radius around the former 1,000-gallon gasoline UST. Three
to five soil samples were selected to be analyzed from each boring. Groundwater from each
monitoring well on-site was sampled and analyzed.
Selected soil samples and all groundwater samples were de:ivered to Sequoia Analytical
Laboratory in Redwood City,California for chemical analysis. All soil and groundwater samples
_ Y submitted were analyzed in general accordance with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
Document SW-846 "Test Methods for Evaluating Solid Wastes" for the following:
o EPA method 8015 modified for diesel (TPH).
=: 1p
"
