1 I <br /> wells analyzed for PNAs (MW-1 through MW-3) Volatile aromatic organic compounds <br /> ' (VAOCs by EPA Method 8020) were nondetectable in the two wells tested (MW-4 and MW- <br /> 5) All regulated chemicals were within State and Federal Maximum Contaminant Levels <br /> (MCLs) in groundwater in August 1990 State and Federal MCLS are listed at the end of <br /> ' Table 4 <br /> ' In November 1990, the groundwater sample from newly constructed well MW-6 indicated <br /> nondetectable concentrations of TPHg, and BTEX TPHd was detected at a concentration of <br /> ' 64 ppb (Table 4) <br /> ' Quarterly monitoring of all the groundwater monitoring wells was initiated by USTEC in <br /> December 1990 to identify the mayor organic constituents and their concentrations, and to <br /> assess the potential migration path of these constituents in the groundwater throughout the site <br /> A summary of historical groundwater analytical results is presented in Table 4 <br /> USTEC conducted seven quarters of groundwater monitoring, the last in November 1991 In <br /> December 1992, RESNA Industries Inc (RESNA), now Smith Environmental, resumed <br /> ' monitoring activities and is continuing quarterly groundwater monitoring and reporting at the <br /> site in accordance with the requirements of PHS/EHD The purpose of groundwater <br /> ' monitoring was to verify the extent of hydrocarbons in groundwater, monitor the fluctuations <br /> in concentrations of dissolved hydrocarbons in groundwater, and monitor the depth to <br /> groundwater The most recent groundwater monitoring and sampling event was completed by <br /> ' a Smith Environmental technician on September 28, 1995 A cumulative record of <br /> groundwater monitoring and sampling data is presented in Tables 3 and 4, respectively The <br /> ' groundwater gradient on September 28, 1995 is depicted on Figure 6 Copies of field notes <br /> and laboratory reports are included in Appendix D <br /> ' Dunn Fourth Quarter 1992 monitoring activities an unrecorded well was <br /> During Q g s located inside a <br /> building on-site The well was screened in the shallowest aquifer, upgradient from the former <br /> USTs The well was sampled for TPHg and BTEX (results were nondetectable) and the well <br /> was subsequently destroyed in accordance with regulatory guidelines <br /> n\0540061rcpons\CLO1195 doe 6 <br /> • <br /> I <br /> SMTH <br />
