Working To Restore Nature <br /> Report on Vapor Extraction Test January 29, 1993 <br /> Coca-Cola Former Distribution Facility, Stockton, California 5400601 <br /> ' Soil Vapor Extraction Test <br /> All field work was conducted in accordance with the RESNA Site Safety Plan (RESNA, <br /> November 1992) and the RESNA Vapor Extraction Test Field Protocol (RESNA, Rev July <br /> 1992) All air samples collected for laboratory analysis were accompanied with a Chain of <br /> Custody Record to a State certified laboratory <br /> On November 12, 1992, RESNA performed a one-day vapor extraction test (VET) at the <br /> subject site The purpose of the test was to collect operational data to provide necessary <br /> information to develop engineering design criteria for preparation of construction Plans and <br /> Specifications for the design and construction of a full scale soil vapor extraction system, to <br /> determine the feasibility of vapor extraction at this site, to determine the effective radius <br /> of influence, and to select the optimum off-gas abatement process Operational data that <br /> was collected included flow rates from each well, applied vacuums at the extraction <br /> wellheads, induced vacuums at the observation wells, air velocity, temperature, petroleum <br /> hydrocarbon concentrations in the extracted gases from the test wells, distances between <br /> wellheads, and other necessary date <br /> Personnel present at the site on November 12, during all or a portion of the test, included <br /> Ms Ann Macdonald of Coca-Cola Enterprises - West, Mr Steven Schneider of the San <br /> Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division, and RESNA field <br /> test personnel Mr Patrick Lamb of the San Jose office and Ms Jeanne Homsey of the <br /> Stockton office The project site was fenced and locked and is currently in the process of <br /> being rented and/or sold to American Performance, an automobile paint and body company <br /> Mr Patrick Green of American Performance arrived in the morning to unlock the gate and <br /> admit the above personnel to the site, but was not present for the test <br /> Eight existing vapor wells (VEW-1 through VEW-8) were used during the test The location <br /> of these wells, as well as other pertinent site features, are shown on Plate 2, Generalized <br /> Site Plan Prior to the start of the VET, depth to water was measured in the wells, in order <br /> to determine the available well screen interval in each well that was available for vapor <br />' extraction <br /> One longer term test and one shorter term test were conducted After these two tests were <br /> completed, the equipment was re-located to each of the observation wells to obtain air <br /> samples for laboratory analysis <br /> 8 <br />
