Appendix D Direct Push Bonn investigation <br /> AA S <br /> Phase Il ESA Multi-Modal Station Sax-Block Project <br /> January 6,2063 <br /> Page 4 of 15 <br /> . 3.3 DIRECT PUSH BORINGS <br /> 3.3.1 Right-of-Way <br /> Between May 14 and September 13, 2002, two Geoprobe borings, 23 detection borings, and eight <br /> perimeter borings were installed in the right-of-way of the six streets that enclose and transect the six- <br /> block field area, as well as the railroad right-of-way properties (Figures 5 - 11, Appendix A) <br /> ➢ Three "perimeter" detection borings(PSI, PS2, and PS3)were installed along the west side of N <br /> Stanislaus Street between E Miner Avenue and E Weber Avenue Boring logs of PS 1, PS2, and <br /> PS3 are included in the back of Appendix D <br /> ➢ Two "perimeter" detection borings (PS4-S and PS4-W) were installed along the east side of N <br /> Stanislaus Street south of E Weber Avenue <br /> ■ <br /> Boring PS4-S was advanced to a total depth of 45 feet bgs, soil samples were collected, and a <br /> temporary well casing was placed in the boring on May 20, 2002 Before groundwater <br /> elevation data and groundwater samples could be collected, a thunderstorm overwhelmed the <br /> storm drains and flooded the boring The temporary casing was removed and the boring was <br /> grouted to surface with neat cement grout on the same day On May 22, boring PS4-W was <br /> installed north of PS4-S in order to collect representative groundwater elevation data and a <br /> groundwater sample <br /> Seven detection borings (DG1 through DG7) were installed along the west side of N Grant <br /> Street <br /> ➢ One "perimeter" detection boring (PGI) was installed along the east side of N Grant Street <br /> immediately north of E Weber Avenue <br /> • ➢ Three detection borings (DAl through DA3) were installed along the west side of N Aurora <br /> Street <br /> ➢ One "perimeter" detection boring (PAI) was installed along the west side of N Aurora Street <br /> immediately north of E Weber Avenue <br /> ■ Boring PAI was advanced to a total depth of 114 feet bgs to allow for sampling of a deeper <br /> groundwater bearing zone beneath the site Continuous soil cores were collected from the <br /> surface to 80 feet bgs at this boring The boring log for PAI is included in the back of <br /> Appendix D <br /> ➢ Three detection borings (DM1 through DM3) were installed along the south side of E Miner <br /> Avenue between N Stanislaus Street and N Aurora Street <br /> ➢ One Geoprobe boring (DC5) and five detection borings (DC1 through DC4 and DC6) were <br /> installed along the south side of E Channel Street <br /> ➢ One "perimeter" detection boring (PW 1) was installed along the north side of E Weber Avenue <br /> between N Stanislaus Street and N Grant Street <br /> ➢ One Geoprobe boring(GRI) and five detection borings (DR1 through DR5) were installed on the <br /> railroad right-of-way properties adjoining the site to the east <br /> • Continuous soil cores from the surface to 45 feet bgs were collected from detection boring <br /> DR5 The boring log for DR5 is included in the back of Appendix D <br /> Borings PS4, PG1, and PAI were moved from their proposed locations due to access restrictions caused <br /> by Pacific Gas and Electric construction activities in the N Stanislaus Street and E Weber Avenue right- <br /> of-ways <br /> • <br />
