Metal fines generated from the manufacturing process are being recycled as scrap metal without <br />first determining particle size or hazardous properties. Any person who generates a waste shall <br />determine if the waste is a hazardous waste. Immediately stop recycling metal fines, make a hazardous <br />waste determination for the metal fines, and manage it according to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. <br />Particles 100 microns or smaller must be handled as hazardous waste if the metal is determined to be a <br />hazardous waste. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was <br />managed by December 20, 2012. <br />404. At the hazardous waste storage area, a two and a half gallon container, twenty percent full of used <br />oil was left open. All hazardous waste containers shall be closed at all times except when adding or <br />removing waste. Immediately close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste containers are <br />closed when not adding or removing waste. <br />605. At the hazardous waste storage area, a two and a half gallon container, twenty percent full of used <br />oil was not labeled. A thirty gallon bag of hazardous waste paint filters was not labeled. Eric Hensel <br />states that these wastes were just brought to the hazardous waste storage area yesterday. Hazardous <br />waste disposal records indicate that hazardous waste was most recently brought the to San Joaquin <br />County Hazardous Waste Disposal Facility on October 31, 2012. All hazardous waste containers shall be <br />marked with the following information: <br />1. the words "Hazardous Waste" <br />ALL EHD STAFF TIME ASSOCIATED WITH FAILING TO COMPLY BY THE ABOVE NOTED DATES WILL BE BILLED AT THE CURRENT HOURLY RATE. <br />THIS FACILITY IS SUBJECT TO REINSPECTION AT ANY TIME AT EHD'S CURRENT HOURLY RATE <br />Inspector: Re ' By: Title �7 <br />HW INSPECTION REPORT <br />EHD 22-02 Rev 04/19/12 <br />rage 4 <br />
