CLASS II, or MINOR - Notice to Comoly)
Item # Remarks
Overall Inspection Comments:
This is a final hazardous waste inspection of the previous business, RMB Garage, which had closed its operation
around June 2014. The current new business, I Love Appliances, began operation around July 2014. Owner of the
new business is Alex Grunlad. (209-204-6011) Consent to perform the inspection, take photos and collect
samples was given by Nick Blain, manager of the new business. (209-471-7117)
Verified no hazardous waste had been left behind by the previous business. The current business buys and sells
used appliances, which involves cleaning and testing of the appliances, and if need be, dismantle and salvage
parts for repair. Verified the degree of dismantling and salvaging does not generate any hazardous waste (such as
removing the compressors, R34 units, freon and coolants, or oil). Appliances that could not be repaired are sent to
Sims for metal recycling. However, universal wastes such as CRT, circuit boards are generated. No hazardous
waste, or hazardous materials over 55 gallons, 200 cubic feet, or 500 pounds were observed during this
inspection.
Facility will be removed from the San Joaquin County hazardous waste generator inventory, but the new business
will be placed on inventory for appliance recycling. Please be aware facility may require a California Appliance
Recycling (CAR) identification number from the State. Discussed universal waste management requirement with
Nick. Also provided a blank universal waste label, CUPA class schedule, and SJC Hazardous Waste Disposal
Facility pamphlet.
Receive by it'
Inspector:
Phone:
Date:
JEFFREY WONG, Senior REHS
(209) 468-0335
01/23/2015
-a3-/S-
