Glass beads were found on the floor by the bead blaster. Facilities shall be maintained and <br />operated to minimize the possibility of a fire, explosion, or release of hazardous waste to air, soil, or <br />surface water which could threaten human health or the environment. Immediately, and manage <br />according to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Glass beads were swept and returned to the bead <br />blaster; discrepancy was corrected on site. <br />52. An emergency coordinator and modified contingency plan information is lacking. There must be at <br />least one emergency coordinator on site or on call to coordinate emergency response measures, and <br />the following information must be posted by a phone: the name and phone number of the emergency <br />coordinator; location of fire extinguishers, spill control equipment, and if present, fire alarm; and the <br />phone number of the fire department, unless the facility has a direct alarm. Above information was <br />posted by phone; discrepancy was corrected on site. <br />Facility generates a lot of metal to be recycled. Please be aware that metal fines generated from are <br />being recycled as scrap metal without first determining particle size or hazardous properties. Any <br />person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is a hazardous waste. Immediately stop <br />recycling metal fines, make a hazardous waste determination for the , and manage it according the Title <br />22 hazardous waste regulations. Particles 100 microns or smaller must be handled as hazardous waste <br />if the metal is determined to be a hazardous waste. <br />A copy of Best Management Practice factsheet, CUPA class schedule, blank HW labels, HW labeling <br />factsheet, and San Joaquin County Small Business Hazardous Waste Disposal Program pamphlet, have <br />been provided to generator during this inspection. <br />Submit the following to EHD by: March 14, 2011 <br />1) A completed copy of the (attached) Return to Compliance (please keep original for your records). <br />2) A written statement how each violation was corrected <br />3) Evidence (i.e. photos, disposal receipts, documents) in support of the corrections made. <br />ALL EHD STAFF TIME ASSOCIATED WITH FAILING TO COMPLY BY THE ABOVE NOTED DATES WILL BE BILLED AT THE CURRENT HOURLY RATE ($122). <br />THIS FACILITY IS SUBJECT TO REINSPECTION AT ANY TIME AT END'S CURRENT HOURLY RATE. <br />EHDI ctor: <br />Re '% d By: 1 <br />Title: <br />4-'. \ t*A, <br />nsN- <br />EHD2302-OL Rev 08/10/10 CONTINUATION FORM <br />
