Sep 01 09 08:34a p.2
2081 -D Rene Avenue -
September 1, 2009
Quality Auto Repair
1246 E Harding Way
Stockton, Ca 95205
SACRAMENTO
Sacramento, California 95838 - (916) 921-6074
Fax (916) 921-2129
SEP 0 4 20og
To Whom It May Concern:
Regarding the spent lead acid batteries we received from your facility please be advised that the
units are consolidated at our facility, Sacramento Interstate Batteries, Sacramento, California.
All spent lead -acid batteries that are picked up by or delivered to Sacramento Interstate Batteries
are sent to a smelter that operates under a permit from the United States Environmental
Protection Agency. At this smelter, the batteries are broken down and then the lead, plastic, and
acid are processed and recycled.
Quality Auto Repair gives its spent lead -acid batteries to Sacramento Interstate Batteries, the
following traces the path the batteries follow from your premises to a smelter, First, the batteries
are picked up at your premises by Sacramento Interstate Batteries. These batteries are then taken
to the local warehouse in Sacramento, Ca where they will be kept for one or sometimes two
weeks on wooden pallets inside a warehouse with a concrete floor. When a pallet is filled, it is
wrapped with a plastic wrap in order to keep the batteries in place. Finally, the batteries will be
picked up weekly or bi-weekly by a truck sent by Johnson Controls Battery Group, Inc. and then
taken to a smelter that operates under a permit from the United States Environmental Protection
Agency. The smelter where your batteries are sent and its United States E.P.A. # CAD
06623' )966. Based on this system of recycling, Johnson Controls Battery Group, Inc. protects
Sacramento Interstate Batteries and its customers, from financial liability arising out of spent
lead -acid batteries which Johnson Controls picks up and disposes of at a lead smelter or any
other site.
All bills of lading are kept on file at Sacramento Interstate Batteries, 2041 -D Rene Ave.,
Sacramento, Ca. and are available for your organization's review at any time at this location. We
very much appreciate your giving Interstate Battery System the opportunity to serve you,
