Waste Disposal and <br /> Spill Control IL - <br /> Polycarbonate Waste Disposal Procedure — LTI Clean N' Coat <br /> Waste from the polycarbonate units must be properly cured and disposed of <br /> on a daily basis. Following is the procedure: <br /> • Obtain a small aluminum pan. (Use only the small disposable aluminum <br /> pans obtained through Central Purchasing <br /> • Place the pan on the floor next to the polycarbonate waste container <br /> • Transfer the waste from the waste container to the pan as follows: <br /> Remove the drip tubes from the container <br /> Quickly place the ends of the tubes in the aluminum <br /> pan <br /> Carefully pour the liquid from the plastic waste <br /> container into the aluminum pan. The liquid must <br /> form a thin layer in the pan (approx. 1/4") <br /> • Be careful to avoid any spills, use Cob-Dri to clean any spills. <br /> • Replace drip tubes in waste container and re-secure under Clean n' Coat. <br /> • Harden the liquid waste as follows: <br /> Place the aluminum pan in the UV waste curing <br /> system <br /> Cure the waste 20 to 30 minutes, the waste will turn <br /> into a solid. Turn off the UV light when completed. <br /> Note: If the waste takes more than 30 minutes to cure, verify all associates are coating lenses <br /> according to the procedure outlined in QIVIP or replace the UV bulb if needed. (UV bulbs <br /> should be replaced at least quarterly.) <br /> • Place each waste pan into a separate plastic bag and close the bag.
