Steel parts ,yith paint <br />may be placed in the hot caustic tank to soften the paint. The hot caustic can also be used to soften <br />residue (tar, adhesives, lacquer, powder coating). The steel parts are rinsed In the muratic rinse <br />tank. All parts with paint are then blasted with garnet to remove the paint. <br />,All parts that require plating removal are nickel stripped iii the nickel strip tank. These parts <br />include plated aluminum parts, dicast parts, and old steel plated parts, .after the parts are nickel <br />stripped, the parts are rinsed in the muratic rinse then blasted. Any parts with rust and or chrome <br />are placed in the muratic acid tank then the rinse prior to blasting. <br />All pairs are evaluated for straightening. 'I -he straightening may be done ln•ior to stripping or after. <br />Once the part is strai<rhtenina, the part is ground to remove high marks from the harnmer. Once <br />the part is ground and blasted, the polishing is completed. The flow through the polishing room <br />usually is as follows: belting; flop; grease. The part is then copper and -or nickel plated followed <br />by: copper buff nickel buffi or sisal buff. The part is then ready for more copper or nickel. <br />Depending on Clic final plate, the part is then ready for the final plate copper. nickel. oi- chrome. <br />Comer Plate <br />1'1_ : of part in Plat g room is as follows: wash; <br />J,.4 dead rinse # 1; copper strike dead rinse � 2 <br />;gad rinse then to polishing room. <br />Aluni Plate <br />«ash dead rinse. acid rinse; copper strike; copper <br />, sulfuric acid rinse: acid copper tank; acid copper <br />Flow of parts for Alum plate: wadi; wash dead rinse: acid rinse; alum prcplate: alum acid raise; <br />nickel water rinse: copper strike; copper dead rinse '#1: clipper -'lead rinse m2: acid tinse; nicnei <br />tank then either to polish room or copper acid plate. <br />
