1 <br /> 1 <br /> Training Policy <br /> Hazardous Materials Operations <br /> Value Products, Inc. <br /> Value Products, Inc. has developed this policy to assure that all personnel who are expected to come <br /> into contact with hazardous materials as a part of their job description will have initial training on the <br /> materials and how to handle them before exposure to the hazardous materials. The training will include <br /> when Personal Protective Equipment(PPE) is needed, how and when to don and doff the PPE, and how <br /> to care for the PPE. Training will include the appropriate level of emergency response training for each <br /> job description that an employee is employed under. If an employee moves to anotherjob description, <br /> then he/she will be trained to meet the new job requirements before starting the new job description. <br /> All training will be documented, both initial training and annual refresher training given to all employees <br /> that deal with hazardous materials as stated in their job descriptions. <br /> Hazardous Materials Training will be presented by an individual that Value Products, Inc. recognizes as <br /> having sufficient experience and/or knowledge in regard to hazardous materials handling to discuss the <br /> materials presented. Such training may consist of at least 24 hours of HAZWOPER training, and/or other <br /> training felt suitable by Value Products. <br /> Initial training for all employees whose job descriptions will bring them into contact with hazardous <br /> materials will consist of, at a minimum: <br /> • Introduction to hazardous materials properties appropriate to the job description. <br /> • Personal Protective Equipment used by employees of the job description, its use and care <br /> • Emergency Response Plan for Value Products <br /> • Tasks performed by employees of a given job description. <br /> Training will be documented with a written quiz concerning hazardous materials discussed along with <br /> PPE use and care,as well as demonstrations of proper PPE use and care and proper performance of job <br /> tasks. All documentation will be dated and signed by trainer and trainee and retained for as long as the <br /> trainee is employed at Value Products, Inc. <br /> Annual refresher training will be given to all employees whose job description brings them into contact <br /> with hazardous materials and will consist of the following at a minimum: <br /> • Review of hazardous materials properties appropriate to the job description. <br /> • Review of PPE use and care. <br /> • Review of Emergency Response Plan. <br />
