OPERATING POSITIOPUP POSITION 1 - Position 1 is the "tripped" or "reset" position. The '96 LD -2000 goes into this posi- tion when the pressure in the delivery system falls to 4 psi or less at the leak detector. -`n the reset position, the '96 LD - .000 is ready to look for a leak in the delivery system the next time the submersible pump is turned on. With the pump turned on, the '96 LD -2000 will allow approximately 1.5 gallons of product per minute to enter the delivery system through a cross hole in the poppet. In Position 1, a portion of the cross hole is positioned around the narrow part of the metering pin. Pressure will build very quickly to 12-15 psi. As the pressure builds in the delivery system, it also increases under the piston in the top of the '96 LD -2000. This pressure causes the piston and poppet to move upward. POSITION 2 - When pressure in the delivery system has reached 12-15 psi, the piston and poppet assembly moves to Position 2 - the "leak sensing" position. As the poppet moves to this —position, the cross hole in the poppet centers around the head in the metering pin. Since the head of the pin is considerably larger than the shaft, flow is restricted from 1.5 GPM to 3 GPH or less. If there is a leak in the delivery system of 3 GPH or more, the pressure in the delivery system will not rise, and the '96 LD - 2000 will stay in this position. If there is no leak in the delivery system, the pressure will con- tinue to rise. 11 POSITION 3 - If the pressure continues to rise, the "96 LD - 2000 will move to Position 3 - the "full flow" position. In position 3, the '96 LD -2000 will allow full flow of product from the sub- mersible pump to enter the delivery system.
