Ken Wilcox Associates <br />2615 East Beltline Road <br />Carrollton, TX 75006 <br />Tel: (800) 678-7577 Date of Evaluation: 06/07/93 <br />r <br />170 <br />Appearance on this list is not to be construed as an endorsement by any regulatory agency nor is it any guarantee of the performance of the <br />method or equipment. <br />4ti i'.ot <br />California Edition: August, 1996 <br />r <br />Tidel Engineering <br />Tidel Environmental Monitoring System, EMS 2000, 3000, & 3500 Series <br />Probes #401-0021 & #401-0022 <br />AUTOMATIC TANK GAUGING SYSTEM <br />Certification: <br />Leak rate of 0.2 gph with Po = 99.91% and PFA = 0.09%. <br />Leak Threshold: <br />0.1 gph (a leak is declared if the output of the measurement system <br />exceeds this threshold). <br />Applicability: <br />Gasoline, diesel, aviation fuel, fuel oil, and solvents. <br />Capacity: <br />The maximum tank capacity is 15,000 gallons. <br />The tank must be between 50 and 95% full. <br />Waiting Time: <br />Minimum waiting time between product delivery to the tank and test data collection <br />must be 2 hours. <br />There must be no dispensing or product delivery during the test waiting time. <br />Test Period: <br />The minimumdata collection time must be 6 hours. <br />Test data is acquired and recorded by the microprocessor contained within the EMS ` <br />console. <br />Leak rate is calculated from data determined to be valid by statistical analysis.. <br />There must be no dispensing or product delivery during the test. <br />Temperature: <br />A minimum of 5 .temperature sensors must be used to determine the average <br />temperature of the stored substance. <br />Water Sensor. <br />A water sensor is used to detect water incursion. <br />Minimum water level detectable in the tank is 1.48 inches. <br />Minimum detectable water level change is 0.035 inches. <br />Calibration: <br />Temperature sensors and ultrasonic probe must be checked and calibrated in <br />accordance with manufacturer's instructions. <br />Comments: <br />This equipment was not evaluated using manifolded tanks. <br />-This equipment only tests that portion of the tank that contains product. <br />As the product level is lowered, the leak rate in a leaking tank decreases (due to lower <br />head' pressure). . <br />EMS 20QO and 3000 Series are no longer manufactured by Tidel. <br />Tidel Engineering, Inc.
