ENHANCED VAPOR RECOVERY OR"
In March of 2000, the California Air Resources
Board adopted new, more stringent vapor recovery
requirements for gasoline dispensing facilities. The
new program is titled "Enhanced Vapor Recovery"
(EVR). EVR was developed to promote enhanced
vapor recovery system reliability and to seek further
vapor emission reductions to meet both California
and Federal Air Quality Requirements. These new
compliance requirements and certification proce-
dures for vapor recovery equipment constitute the
most stringent and comprehensive performance
and reliability requirements in existence for Vapor
Recovery Systems. Phase I EVR is now in force in
California. Additional EVR requirements including
those for Phase 2 vapor recovery equipment will
be phased in based on the timeline defined in the
regulations (www.arb.ca.govlvaporlvaporhtm).
Outside of California, EVR, or certain components of
EVR, are being adopted or considered in many areas.
Some important new requirements for a certified
EVR Phase I Systems include:
• EVR System Certification Test Protocol — All
Phase I vapor recovery components must now
be installed, tested, and certified as a complete
integral Phase I System.
• EVR System Efficiency - must now exceed
98% versus the 95% previously required.
• EVR System Performance - allowable leak rates
for components such as spill container drain
valves, overfill valves, and pressure vacuum
vents have been reduced by 50%.
• EVR System Reliability — Operating test period
for certification of a complete system has been
increased to a minimum of 180 days from the 90
day individual component test period previously
required. Periodic follow-up testing of the vapor
recovery systems and components at gasoline
dispensing systems is required.
EVR, and its technology -forcing standards,
has raised the bar for petroleum equipment
manufacturers and for tank owners. OPW has
responded to this challenge by focusing our
considerable resources on the task at hand.
The result is the completely integrated OPW
EVR Certified Phase I System designed,
manufactured, tested, and certified by the
indusrty's leading manufacturer. introducing the
OPW EVR CerMed Phase i System.....
DPW 61SA-EVR SERIES DPW 61JSK-4400-EVR DPW 61VSA-EVR SERIF
SWIVEL FILL ADAPTOR JACK SCREW DROP TUBE SWIVEL VAPOR ADAPT(
LOCK DOWN DEVICE
DPW 634TT-EVR DPW 1711 TEVR
PRODUCT FILL VAPOR RECOVERY
DUST CAP DUST CAP
0 OPW 61 SA-EVR OPW 61 VSA-EVR
ROTATABLE SWIVEL ROTATABLE SWIVEL
ADAP,rOR — FILL PORT ADAPTOR — VAPOR PORT
USA Patent No. 5,664,951 USA Patent No. 5,664,951
