OPERATING POSITIONS
POSITION I - Position I is the
"tripped" or "reset" position. The LD -
2000 goes into this position when the
pressure in the delivery system drops to
4 psi or Iess at the leak detector.
In the reset position, the LD -2000 is
ready to look for a leak in the delivery
system the next time the submersible
pump is turned on. With the pump
turned on, the LD -2000 will allow
approximately 1.5 gallons of product
per minute to enter the delivery system
through a cross hole in the poppet.
In Position 1, a portion of the cross
hole is positioned around the narrow
part of the metering pin. Pressure will
build very quickly to 12-15 psi. As the
pressure builds in the delivery system,
it also increases under the piston in the
top of the LD -2000. This pressure
causes the piston and poppet to move
upward.
POSITION 2 - When pressure in the
delivery system has reached 12-15 psi,
the piston and poppet assembly moves
to Position 2 -the "leak sensing" posi-
tion.
As the poppet moves to this position,
the cross hole in the poppet centers
around the head in the metering pin.
Since the head of the pin is consider-
ably larger than the shaft, flow is
restricted from 1.5 GPM to 3 GPH or
less.
If there is a leak in the delivery
system of 3 GPH or more, the pressure
in the delivery system will not rise, and
the LD -2000 will stay in this position. If
there is no leak in the delivery system,
the pressure will continue to rise.
Pressure
POSITION 3 - If the pressure
continues to rise, the
LD -2000 will move to
Position 3 -the "full flow"
position. In position 3, the
LD -2000 will allow full
flow of product from the
submersible pump to enter
the delivery system.
For further information about the LD -2000 or other leak detection equipment,
contact your local distributor or call:
APORLESS MIANUFACTUPLING, INC.
9234-C East Valley Road - Prescott Valley, AZ 86314
1-800-367-Q L85 - (602) 775-5191 - (602) 775 -5309 -FAX
s
® 4® Printed on Recycled Paper Made in the United States of America
