Fremont Street, Stockton, CA 95205
RE: UPGRADE EXISTING PETROLEUM SYSTEM
Dear Ms. Briggs:
As we discussed, I am writing to inform you of the status of this project's
execution.
I have been in contact with Mr. David Kwong of the City of Stockton's
Community Development Center, Planning Division, regarding required Planning
approvals for this project. He suggested that I write to the Director of
Planning, which I did on 07 Aug 97, including with that letter our proposed
layout for the new petroleum system (copy enclosed).
Subsequently, Mr. Kwong and I have discussed Planning and Public Works'
concerns. Today he faxed me a Public Works' suggested reconfiguration of
our proposal.
Had that revised layout been fully workable, we would now know the final
configuration of the remodeled site. I would then be able to revise our
drawings, request bids and choose a Contractor for the work. This would
have allowed me to provide the Contractor information missing from our
application for UST removal, as well as apply for an Authority to Construct
the new USTs and fueling system for the site.
Unfortunately, after initial review, that revised layout, at least in my opinion,
requires some refinement as I see some circulation conflicts. The good part is
that the revised layout is not really that different than what we originally
proposed. Therefore I am sure that we and the City can ultimately arrive at
a layout that is workable and handles everyone's concerns. However, we have
not reached that point, as yet.
In the meantime, as I felt that the canopy size was unlikely to change
significantly, I took the liberty of sending out requests for Canopy bids.
Those bids are due by the end of this week. This will allow us choose a
canopy supplier and, when the site layout is finalized with the City, complete
the canopy's engineering. That will give us a head start on securing the
canopy's building permits after Planning approvals.
843 Riske Lane, West Sacramento, CA 95691 (916) 372-1888 • Fax 373-1172
Mailing Address: P.O.
