We ran into difficulties providing a
vacuum test for the annular space of the regular tank. Since nothing has been disturbed outside of the
Vapor/product fill sump we feel the transition from fiberglass secondary containments to welded tank opening
may have a minor leak. We propose to sand down around both opening within the Fill/Vapor sump and
fiberglass from top of tank to around each of the riser pipes. We will also examine and seal anything that looks
like it could be a bruise to the secondary containment within the sump. While the resin is setting up we will pull
a vacuum on the secondary annular space which should seal any seep.
Should this not solve the seep issue we will expand this same process to any tank riser we can gain
access to without breaking concrete.
Repairs will be taking place next week & and we will advise you of the repairs and reschedule our secondary
annular space test with you.
Please call me if you have any concerns or would like further information.
Thank You
Bryce Ruschhaupt
PS: I have attached a couple of photos of repairs to collapsed sump. As you can see all actions were within 24"
of surface or within the fill/vapor sump.
Bryce Ruschhaupt
California Petroleum Equipment Inc
Po Box -423, Chester CA. 96020
530-774-4276 • Fax 530-259-4099
CA Lic #432613 • A, B, C-10, C-61, Haz
bryce@capetroleum.com
3/7/2012
