The 87 and 91 turbine sump sensors are held in place with holders which do not clearly allow the
sensor to detect a leak at the earliest opportunity. The holder bottoms are touching the tank top with
very little space between the holder and the tank top. This space can be filled with a small amount of
dirt and prevent the sensor from going into alarm if liquid gets into the sump. The holders must be
installed in a way which allows the bottom of sensor to be seen by the inspector. Monitoring equipment
shall be maintained to be able to detect a leak at the earliest possible opportunity. Immediately modify
the holders to allow the bottom of the sensor to be seen when inspected from the tank pad area. Send a
corrective action statement to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department by June 3,
2013.
Note
1.
