Severe eye irritant or burns/corrosive
Severe respiratory irritant
May cause gastrointestinal irritation
Contains crystalline silica which can cause silicosis and is considered a carcinogen
Risk of irritation depends upon duration and level of exposure
Hazardous Statement: Potential Health Effect—Primary Routes of Exposure
This material is considered to be a hazard under the Federal OSHA Hazard Communication Standard 29 CFR 1910,1200.
The information provided in this section pertains to the individual components of this product.
Irritation:
Skin: (RABBIT)Moderate irritant
Eye: (RABBIT)Moderate irritant
Sensitization: Moderate sensitizer
Inhalation: Harmful if inhaled—RAT LCLO=750 MG/M3/10 Min. May cause sensitization.
Effects of Overexposure: Overexposure to this material can cause severe skin, eye, and respiratory irritation.Prolonged
contact will result in chemical burns. It is a potent skin sensitizer in animal studies. Component in
this product can cause depression, convulsions, drowsiness, slurred speech, stupor, headaches,
dizziness, nausea, and depression of the respiratory center. Also Liver and Kidney effects have
been reported for humans along with effects of the blood especially causing anemia.
Medical Conditions Aggregated Asthma, chronic respiratory disease, skin and eye conditions
by Exposure:
Health Hazards(Acute and Chronic)
Acute Health Hazards are listed above.
Chronic Health Hazards:Prolonged exposure to Crystalline Silica dust by inhalation may delay injury/disease(Silicosis).
IARC has determined that Crystalline Silica inhaled in the form of Quartz Orcristobalite from occupational sources is
carcinogenic to humans(Group 1—Carcinogenic to humans)
SECTION IV: FIRST-AID MEASURES
Emergency and First Aid Procedures:
General advice: Seek medical advice. If breathing has stopped or is labored, give assisted respirations. Supplemental oxygen may
be indicated. If heart has stopped, trained personnel should begin cardiopulmonary resuscitation immediately.
Eye contact: For eye contact, immediately flush eyes for at least fifteen minutes with clean running water. Hold eyelids apart to
ensure rinsing of the entire eye surface and lids with water. If physician is not available, flush for an additional
fifteen minutes. Get immediate medical attention.
Skin contact: For skin contact, immediately remove contaminated clothing and shoes under a safety shower. Wash affected
areas thoroughly with plenty of water and soap for at least thirty minutes. Get immediate medical attention. Discard
or decontaminated clothing before re-use,and destroy contaminated shoes.NOTE TO PHYSCIANS:Application of
corticosteroid cream has been effective in treating skin irritation.
Ingestion: Acute oral exposure to benzyl alcohol and xylene has been reported to cause CNS effects in animals3 f If breathing
has stopped, trained personnel should begin artificial respiration immediately and if the heart has stopped, trained
personnel should begin cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPT)immediately.Benzyl alcohol is corrosive. If vomiting
occurs naturally, have victim lean forward to reduce risk of aspiration.Never give anything by mouth to an
unconscious person. If a person vomits when lying on his back, place him in the recovery position. Prevent
aspiration of vomit. Turn victim's head to the side.
Inhalation: Acute inhalation to xylene has been reported to cause CNS effects in humans. If inhaled, remove from area to fresh
air. if not breathing or the heart has stopped, trained personnel should begin cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR)
immediately I f breathing has stopped or is labored, give assisted respirations. Supplemental oxygen may be
indicated. If the heart has stopped, trained personnel should begin cardiopulmonary resuscitation immediately.
Move to fresh air.
Other: Promptly remove wet contaminated non-impervious clothing. Wash before re-use. Silica is listed under IARC Class
Group 1,as a Carcinogen.Titanium Dioxides classified as a Group 2B carcinogen by IARC.Xylene may cause
hearing impairment.Xylene also causes severe eye irritation and corrosion.
SECTION V: FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
Flash Point 150°F(66°C)
Enviroline 125 Resin 03/01/08
